Ahhhhh, Summertime!

Well, after a long wait I do believe it has finally arrived! SUMMERTIME! All that rain we have had I wondered if it would ever come? Well it is here and we started it with a bang on the 4th of July. This year was a special one for the Maw family as my Grandparents, John and Norma Maw were chosen as the Grand Marshals for the Plain City 4th of July celebration. As their grandkids we have often had a softball team each summer but haven't done so for quite a while. This year Plain City decided to have a tournament and we decided to enter. Not having played for a while I was sure there would be a little rust. Not so fast my friend! We were dominating. Ok, so we had to win 5 games against teams that weren't all that great, Ok, so maybe we aren't that great, but we won with a walk off home run by my cousin -in-law Andrew Rust. It was awesome. We won these really cheesy T-shirts that say I want you to have a great 4th of July with Uncle Sam on it. That all took place the night of July 3rd and we played till 11:15 at night. The next day we got to be in the big parade in Plain City. My grandparents rode in a sweet horse drawn carriage and all of their great grand kids rode behind them on a hay trailer. Marek and I rode with my brothers, sister, and a few of our cousins to keep the kids in check. Marek loved every second of it. We then went to my parents house and had a great afternoon bbqing and horsing around. I love the 4th! We finished off the day watching the fire works from our house at Weber High. As you can see, Marek didn't much care for them this year. What a great weekend and a great start to the summer. My Grandparents were so fun to watch, they were so honored and happy to be the Grand Marshals!
